Yesterday we took a look at the businesses south of Foster who are participating in Andersonville Arts & Home Weekend, October 2-4. Today we turn our attention to the west to look at those businesses that may be a little off the beaten path (aka not right on Clark Street between Foster and Balmoral) but are totally worth the incredibly short walk.
Andersonville’s western boundary is Ravenswood, and if you head in that direction along Balmoral you will quickly come across four great businesses that are not to be missed during Andersonville Arts & Home Weekend. After the jump we take a look at these four and what they will be doing this weekend.

The reception at FOURSIDED during Night of 100 pARTies is a great excuse to walk south of Foster!
Some people think that Andersonville is only on Clark Street between Foster and Balmoral. However those people are missing the chance to visit some truly extraordinary businesses who also call Andersonville home. Andersonville Arts & Home Weekend is a great excuse to take a walk south, west and north and see what these businesses are up to and become one of those ‘in the know’ about Andersonville’s off the beaten path gems.
After the jump, a complete list of the businesses south of Foster who may be a little off of the map but are totally worth the walk during Andersonville Arts & Home Weekend. Look for coverage of the west and north in the next few days:

We told you about Night of 100 pARTies, but there are events all weekend long during Andersonville Arts & Home Weekend, from art demonstrations to hands on workshops where you are the artist, from tips to integrating art into your home to a chance to just sit back and enjoy world renowned theatre right in the neighborhood.
After the jump, see the full schedule of the weekend plus more great photos from 2008. And as always, you can find a complete up-to-the-minute listing of events, artists and participating businesses at our website, www.andersonville.org/artsweekend.

The Andersonville Galleria lights up the night.
Each year our Andersonville Arts & Home Weekend starts with a bang during Night of 100 pARTies, a neighborhood wide celebration of the partnership between the great businesses we know and love and the fantastic artists whom they highlight during the event. On Friday, October 2, over 40 businesses will throw open their doors from 6:00-10:00 pm for an evening of wine, nibbles and mingling. It is a great opportunity to meet many of the artists who are being featured as well as to spend a fun night in Andersonville.
After the jump, a full list of businesses hosting receptions, a schedule of other events for the evening, and some of our favorite pictures from last year’s Night of 100 pARTies!

The 7th annual Andersonville Arts & Home weekend is in less than two weeks! This popular event (one of our favorites) turns many of the businesses in Andersonville into galleries for the weekend, with each featuring a different (primarily) Chicago-based artist or artists. In addition to highlighting the artists, this year we are also taking the opportunity to recognize all of the great home & design businesses that over the past few years have not only brought the neighborhood a lot of attention, but made the neighborhood one of the hottest go-to design districts in the city!
Over the next two weeks we will be using the Smorgasblogg to share some of the highlights of the weekend, including workshops, performances, parties (!) and a sneak peak at some of the artists who will be featured. In the meantime, a complete list of participating businesses and artists as well as a schedule events are available on our new and improved website, www.andersonville.org/artsweekend.
We look forward to seeing you the weekend of October 2-4!

Well, it’s week 12 of the Andersonville Farmers Market and we’re so happy that we don’t have to say good-bye to it yet! We can’t wait for the fall’s huge crop of apples, squash, pumpkins, and especially the apple cider.
We’ve had many people tell us how excited they are that they will now get to enjoy the market for 4 more weeks. We’re definitely excited as well, but putting on a market each week is a lot of hard work! We depend on the help of many volunteers each week to help us set-up, watch the entrances, assist farmers, and take-down when everything is over.
Find out more after the jump!
