If you're looking for a chance to scope out Andersonville's finest, don't miss the Midsommarfest Pet Parade on the Family Stage at Clark and Balmoral at noon on Saturday, June 13.
One of the only things more interesting than people watching in Andersonville is watching their dogs. Andersonville is a great neighborhood in which to have a dog, with many dog-friendly businesses that allow entry and even provide water and treats to dogs.
Starting in 2008, the City of Chicago has been issuing a special Dog Friendly Area License as a supplement to the Retail Food Establishment Licence. This allows restaurants who have sidewalk cafes to legally accomodate dogs, as well as their owners. For more information about this special license and some of the rules and regs, check out this info sheet from the City of Chicago.
Find out what restaurants in Andersonville have the Dog Friendly Area License after the jump.
According to Everyblock, these Andersonville restaurants have acquired the Dog Friendly Area Licence, so you can dine outside with your best friend:
Charlie’s Ale House, 5308 N. Clark.
Joie De Vine, 1744 W. Balmoral.
Pauline’s Restaurant, 1754 W. Balmoral.
It’s also worth noting that the City requires dogs to be on a leash at all times and have proof of a rabies vaccination in order to be in the dog-friendly sidewalk cafe.
So don’t leave your best friend at home to fend for himself while you enjoy a bite to eat (or drink) in Andersonville, check out one of our dog-friendly sidewalk cafes so you can enjoy the beautiful weather and the people (and dog) watching together!
